(Last Updated On: )

RobotistAffordable Maker Space Solutions

Sitech Systems NZ is stocking the Robotist range from Artec Blocks. Great for hands-on STEM experimenting from age 8. Students can design and build robots. The basic robots that they can control. The basic kit contains infrared, touch, light, and sound sensors, as well as servos, a buzzer, LEDs, and an accelerometer. With all those parts and a bunch of blocks, there are a myriad of things students can build, from a car that follows a line to a robot dog that responds to noises. Plug them into the included Studuino board and start coding. The kit works with free software that has three programming modes: drag-and-drop, simple operations-based environment, and an Arduino IDE. Full tutorials can be downloaded.

For the juniors, the Bee-Bot has been upgraded! Now you can download an app to control the new Blue-Bot. The app enables you to write an algorithm, send it and then the Blue-Bot will follow your instructions. There are numerous features, which make writing algorithms both fun and accessible to the littlies.

Robots for teachers, too

The Swivl lets teachers use their mobile device to record video on the move. Pop your device into the Swivl, set it to record and it will track a remote that the teacher or students can wear or hold, picking up audio, as well. The Swivl is indispensable for capturing group discussions and reflective practice.

Plus, the latest in collaboration for BYOD

Sitech continues to raise the bar with a collaborative tool to suit your campfires, caves and even watering holes! Are you looking for a wireless connectivity solution that ticks every box? Now you can share your screen and mirror iOS devices, multiple screens can be displayed simultaneously, multiple students can annotate simultaneously and the system will handle true BYOD supporting PC/Mac laptops, Android or iOS tablets and phones. And it is secure so your IT manager will have complete peace of mind!
