Safer Internet Day – a global campaign celebrated by more than 170 countries to encourage and promote a better online experience – takes place next week, on Tuesday 9 February. Netsafe leads this campaign here in New Zealand.
“We have a long history of working with educators to use the day as a chance to promote online safety,” says the Netsafe Education Team . “This year is shaping up to be our most significant yet as a result of everything happening on the internet, a record number of schools and organisations committed to spreading awareness.
“We would love to have as many schools as possible to partner with us in 2021 and joining the cause is easy.”
There’s still time to sign-up and be a part of this campaign. The Netsafe team has many free resources for educators to use, including lesson ideas, posters to put up around the school, and messages for newsletters to parents.
