From today, ETV is live streaming the Ministry of Education’s two new free-to-air education channels, with content also being recorded and available to current subscribers, as well as new trial clients.

“After two weeks of frenetic activity involving collaboration between the Education Review Office, the MoE and TVNZ, the two channels are now on air and providing educational content for Yeears 1-10,” said ETV’s General Manager Martin Drew.

300 hours of content

Home Learning TV is broadcasting on TV2+1, with Papa Kāinga TV showing on Māori TV. The channels will run for one month but could be extended depending on the lockdown situation. Around 300 hours of educational content will be broadcast, utilising a significant amount of content from ETV’s extensive catalogue of audio-visual resources.
