Wow, what some marvellous Minecrafters you are! Thanks to everyone who entered our Minecraft competition. We set you the task of creating a structure in the game, based on accuracy and neatness of construction, complexity of design, and appropriate use of materials. You blew us away with your entries. The standard was extremely high and it was tough picking the winners and runner-ups. But we got there in the end – and here are the results:
Years 1-4
Winner: Michael Kemp, St Mary’s Catholic School, Rotorua
Runner-ups: Tommy O’Toole and Jacob McKinnon, both Meadowbank School, Auckland
Years 5-8
Winner: Room 16 ‘DigitaL SoulS’, Greerton Village School, Tauranga
Runner-ups: Ben Hemming, Fergusson Intermediate, Auckland, and Thomas Craven, Adventure School, Porirua
Years 9+
Winner: Charles Turner and Jake Haywood, James Hargest School, Invercargill
Runner-ups: Marija Malskaitis, Opaheke School, Papakura, and Kian Knight, Samuel Marsden Collegiate School, Whitby
New Zealand Building
Winner: Ayla Heta, Tikipunga High School, Northland
Runner-ups: Hannah Craven, Adventure School, Kishan Modi, Fergusson Intermediate, and Leila Paul, Worser Bay School, Wellington.
The four winning entries each received an AC200W Action Cam, courtesy of HP.
