Meet this year’s winning Minecrafters

Thanks to everyone who entered this year’s INTERFACE Minecraft: Education Edition Student Competition – and to Microsoft and MOTAT for their support.

The challenge was to ‘Build a Better Future’ and the response was awesome. We received some amazing creations.

It wasn’t easy but we’ve made our selections and the winners are …


Primary (Years 1-6)

Winner: Emily Oliver, Ruby Tibbots, Isabel Hopkins
Entry: Eco-village School: West Melton School

Runners-up


Intermediate (Years 7-8)

Winner: Team Weka
Entry: Weka Country Sustainable Village School: Rongotea School

Runners-up


Secondary (Year 9+)

Winner: Stella Smurthwaite, Mackenzie Tait,
Entry: Our Sustainable World School: Wairarapa College

Runners-up


Overall Winner

This year we are also crowning an overall winner, with bragging rights as the best Minecrafters in the land. They are Stella Smurthwaite and Mackenzie Tait, Wairarapa College.

Congratulations to you both.

Judge’s comment: “I like you how this group have touched on the homeless side of things as this is a real problem that seems to be getting out of hand. The idea of making everything self-stainable is a must if we are to go forward in the future.”


Prizes

Winners receive the following awesome prizes:

PLUS, the overall winner receives an Acer TravelMateB118 Notebook. All runners-up receive an Action Camera.
