Minecraft Competition: WIN a HP AC200W Action Cam

Back by popular demand, we’re again running a student Minecraft competition, along the same lines but with a bit of a twist. If your students are mad for Minecraft, this is the competition for them … and you! Last year we received some fantastic entries … and we’re hoping for even better things this time!We have four HP ac200w Action Cams up for grabs. Just get your students to build a structure in Minecraft and send us a brief description along with the link to a short video giving us a tour of the design – or, alternatively, send us screenshots showing different views of the design. There are THREE age categories: Years 1-4, Years 5-8 and Years 9+, PLUS a new category for ‘New Zealand buildings’. We’ll select a winning entry in each group, which will receive an HP Action Cam for their classroom. For the three main age group categories, the structure can be of any design, from an imaginary building or a famous landmark, to a machine or transport vehicle (boat, plane, etc.), or just about anything, as long as it’s something you’ve designed and built. Entries will be judged equally on:

  • Accuracy and neatness of construction
  • Complexity of design
  • Appropriate use of materials

For the ‘New Zealand buildings’ category, the structure must be either a well-known building in New Zealand, or an environment that’s designed to be a representation of a New Zealand scene – perhaps a farm or a marae.

All entries require both teacher and student details – incomplete entries will not be accepted. Good luck!

Entries close Wednesday 8 October,2014.

Entries are now closed.
